January 27, 2018 - Need for emergency relief for Holocaust Survivors in Ukraine

We continue to provide seniors with food parcels, especially in the winter months. It is difficult but rewarding work, to be a comfort to His People in exile. But right now we have a serious problem: counting all the requests form the entire Ukraine (including the war zone in the east of the country) we will need six thousand food parcels to last through the end of April. At this point we still need the money for 5,450 of those.

January 17, 2018 - Exodus from Ukraine – End of year hustle and bustle

We can look back with gratitude for the many thousands of olim who came home for good from Ukraine and other former Soviet Republics since the beginning of this year (2017). Every month more than 2,000 Jewish men and women make aliyah world wide and more than 25 percent of them come from Ukraine. In November alone from Ukraine 728 olim and in the month of December more than 1,000 Jewish men and women will have made this journey or plan to do so.

January 16, 2018 - I should not be afraid... The story of Anna Borisovna

We met a long time ago at one of the events of Kiev Hesed. I do not know what was so special about her that I remembered her so well, but she always kept herself apart from the rest. Her history and background in a nutshell. Her grandmother and grandfather, Chana Iosifovna and Gersh Mordukhovich, were shot in Babi Yar along with other relatives. Anna Borisovna has an intelligent appearance, which betrays her nationality. At school, fellow students and teachers always made fun of her.

January 9, 2018 - BIBLICAL REFLECTIONS - LAKE OF FIRE

“What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have You come here to torture us before the appointed time?” (Matthew 8:28-32) “Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” (Matthew 25:41) “And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” (Revelation 20:10) “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:12)

January 4, 2018 - Winter wonderland for Hanukkah in Ukraine

Who would want to come to Ukraine in December, I wondered, as I was packing for another flight to Kiev just before Christmas. I was not entirely wrong with my weather concerns, but that didn’t keep seven Dutch and four German participants from heading to Ukraine for this year’s last working trip to help the Jewish people there, and to learn about what they have been through.

December 21, 2017 - Help needed in Ukraine: food parcels!

Every year Christians for Israel distributes food parcels in Ukraine amongst struggling Jewish families, many of them are Holocaust survivors or refugees. A large group of volunteers assists Koen Carlier (our aliyah fieldworker in Ukraine) with packing and distributing thousands of food parcels and deliver them to needy Jewish Ukrainians. With the harsh Ukrainian winter at hand, and the explosive rise in living costs due to the conflict in Eastern Ukraine, this is no luxury. And this is only the beginning.

December 12, 2017 - Thank You For Not Forgetting Us! - Jewish communities in Ukraine

By Anemone Rüger.. A fresh breeze is blowing, carrying first the Ukrainian, then the Israeli national anthem, the Hatikva. The sound travels across a wheat field onto the horizon where horse stables used to be. They served as living quarters for the Jews from the village who were enslaved as forced labourers back then, when first the Germans, then the Romanians occupied this strip of land.

December 7, 2017 - Return from India - A Dream Fulfilled

By Ruben Ridderhof.. The Bible tells us how the kingdom of Israel was divided in the time of King Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, and how the ten tribes of Israel were taken into exile by the Assyrians and dispersed. Yet the prophets Hosea and Ezekiel prophesied that the Lord would one day reunite the twelve tribes. Today it seems like these prophesies are being fulfilled. In North-Eastern India resides a unique group of people called the Bnei Menashe, ‘Sons of Manasseh.’ For centuries they have continued to tell each other about their roots.

By Marie-Louise Weissenböck.. Marie-Louise Weissenböck (Regional Director Europe and Chairwoman in Austria) and Moshe Gabay (Keshet Tours Israel) led the tour. December 7, 2017 - Jerusalem in the ‘End Times’

By Andrew Tucker.. There is a lot of talk about the end times, or ‘last days’, that have been prophesied in the Bible. The term ‘end days’ in the Bible does not mean the end of the earth or the end of the world. It means the end of a phase of world history (the Greek word is ‘aeon’ meaning ‘vital force’, ‘generation’ or ‘period of time’). In Matthew 24, the disciples ask Jesus “what will be the sign of your coming and the end of the age?”. Jesus answers by telling them about all the things that will happen before ‘the end’. He talks about ‘birth pains’ (verse 8), wars, famines, earthquakes and other signs of the ‘end’. In all of this, He speaks in the context of the prophecies of the Old Testament which are full of God’s promises to send the Messiah to usher in the kingdom.

December 5, 2017 - The Battle for Jerusalem

By Rev. Willem J. J. Glashouwer.. On 31 October; yes, on the same date that Martin Luther in 1517 hammered his 95 theses on the doors of churches in Wittenberg-Germany and started the great work of the Reformation; the same day the ANZAC soldiers from Australia and New Zealand launched their attack in 1917 on Beersheba that ultimately led to the liberation of Jerusalem from the occupation by the Turkish Ottoman Empire that had occupied Jerusalem and the Holy Land for 400 years. “The events of 31 October 1917 laid the foundation for the Jewish people being able to return officially and legally to their land and to ultimately establish their own State on 14 May 1948”, we read in the article of Kelvin Crombie in the October edition 2017 of our newspaper ‘Israel & Christians Today’.

And if so, where would that be? Of course, many Jews said that Jerusalem should be the place, on top of Mount Zion, where the temples of Solomon and Zerubbabel had been. It would be built in the same location that the Temple was destroyed by the heathen nations, Babel and Rome. But why build it in Jerusalem? What is so special about Jerusalem and Mount Zion? What’s unique about this small mountain, 800 meters above sea level, at the edge of the desert?

May 10, 2017 - In a Ukraine forest, terrible events of 75 years ago given resonance by handful of survivors

By Sue Surkes.. Uman, Ukraine — As veterans across Europe turned out this week (May 5 - 9, 2017) for annual ceremonies to commemorate the end of World War ll, some 70 Christians and Jews gathered Monday (May 8, 201) in a forest clearing in central Ukraine to unveil a memorial to 1,000 Jewish children murdered by the Nazis in April 1942. The event – on the outskirts of the city of Uman — was an ode to reconciliation.

May 9, 2017 - Teach them his decrees and instructions...

"Teach them his decrees and instructions, and show them the way they are to live and how they are to behave" (Exodus 18:20). Since the destruction of the Temple, religious Jews have been praying for their return to the Land of Israel. Olim are moving across the world, changing language and culture to become a part of the revived Israel. New waves of aliyah are extremely colourful. Some olim still remember their heritage and connect it with their future. But for many other new immigrants their religious and cultural Jewish background was wiped away by the totalitarian regime in the Soviet countries where they were born and brought up as totally unreligious.

Out of the 600,000 Jews that live in France, indeed, the largest community is to be found in Paris and its surroundings: 450,000 persons. However, the other 150,000 find themselves within other cities in France. "The work of Ebenezer in France is quite new", National Director of Ebenezer France, Xavier Darrieutort, explains.

After all, we cannot be everywhere, but a food parcel and a leaflet can ‘travel’ throughout Ukraine! Shrouded in a seemingly permanent cloud of smoke from wood fires — still the standard means of heating here — Bershad, population 13,000, features two rickety bridges over the polluted (and presently frozen) Dokhna River, roads traversed by Soviet-era clunkers and an utter absence of street lights. No doubt He was referring to many passages in the Hebrew Tenach, in which Jerusalem is described as the city to which the Messiah will come, and from which the word of the Lord will go forth into the nations, and peace will cover the whole earth (see eg. Isaiah 2). Are these words being fulfilled before our very eyes?

Today, there are only 1,300 Jews left. Most of the others were killed during the Holocaust. The horrors of the Holocaust in Ukraine cannot be described in words. The story goes that the screaming and yelling of the Jews that were murdered and abused in Chernovtsy chilled the inhabitants to the bone, so that out of desperation they started ringing the church bells, to overrule the death screams.

These distortions of historical realities are a direct attack on the legitimacy of the connection between the Jewish people and the city. They are also directly opposed to God's promises to establish Jerusalem when the Messiah of Israel comes.

Seventy nations met in Paris (Sunday January 15, 2017) and signed a Joint Declaration in which they called on Israel and the Palestinians to re-commit themselves to the "two states" solution which they say is the "only way to achieve enduring peace". The declaration, which was perhaps less problematic for Israel than anticipated, has no binding force. But it does have a strong political significance because it supports Security Council resolution 2334 that declared ALL Israeli settlements (= Jews) "illegal", and will only strengthen the desire of many nations to ensure that a Palestinian state is created.

October 26, 2016 - Editorial: “I will send for many hunters” (Jeremiah 16)

By Andrew Tucker.. On 27th September, together with my colleagues at the European Coalition for Israel (ECI), I attended a conference in the European Parliament entitled ”The future of the Jewish communities in Europe”, to which ECI was invited alongside Members of the European Parliament and European Jewish community organizations. Hundreds of Jewish community leaders from across Europe expressed their deep concerns about the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe. Many Jews are questioning whether there is a future for them and their children.

Now experts in prophecy warn the continued rise of Turkey and Erdogan has ominous eschatological implications.

October 25, 2016 - In What Practical Ways Can You Support Israel?

One of the things we are asked most by our readers is what they can do to help Israel in a practical way in these difficult times. It is easy to perceive a hands-on approach as more effective, and many seem ready to settle for nothing less. But the truth is that not everyone (in fact, very few) can actually move to Israel, pick up a gun, pen, camera, etc and physically join the fight.

October 25, 2016 - Israeli Settlements in the “Occupied Palestinian Territories”

>> We are losing the battle in the war of ideas for the simple reason that we are continuously on the defensive while those seeking our destruction actively and relentlessly demonise us. Ever since the Oslo Accords, successive Israeli governments have felt obliged to understate and even dismiss Palestinian terror and hatred in order to maintain domestic public support for policies that, alas with the benefit of hindsight, were doomed to fail. In the very early stages, Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat told his people that the ultimate goal was the end of Jewish sovereignty – and we dismissed such outbursts as empty words merely designed to placate his radical domestic opponents.

October 19, 2016 - Israel: Covenants & Kingdom - Rev. J.J. Willem Glashouwer, President Christians for Israel International

Over the years I have struggled to come to a new understanding of the Jewish people; Israel, Jerusalem, the Covenants, the Biblical concept of the Kingdom, the past, present and future from a Biblical perspective. I have published a trilogy with the titles ‘Why Israel?’, ‘Why Jerusalem?’ and ‘Why End Times?’ My daily devotional on the Book of Revelation, day-to-day, verse-by-verse, grew into a small commentary on the Book of Revelation! Now I would like to present my new book, ‘Israel - Covenants & Kingdom’.

October 14, 2016 - PRESS RELEASE - Friday 14th October 2016

Christians for Israel condemns the resolution adopted by UNESCO yesterday 13th October 2016 on "Occupied Palestine". The resolution, in which Israel is repeatedly called "the occupying Power", attacks Israel's activities in and around the Temple Mount, and calls on Israel to stop obstructing Jordanian and Palestinian "restoration" works on the Temple Mount. The resolution refers to the Temple Mount as "Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif", thereby rejecting any historical or religious connection between the Jewish people and the Temple Mount.

October 5, 2016 - The Mutating Virus: Understanding anti-Semitism

Below is a transcript of a speech by Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks at “The Future of the Jewish Communities in Europe” Conference at The European Parliament on 27th September 2016 in Brussels. The hate that begins with Jews never ends with Jews. That is what I want us to understand today. It wasn’t Jews alone who suffered under Hitler. It wasn’t Jews alone who suffered under Stalin. It isn’t Jews alone who suffer under ISIS or Al Qaeda or Islamic Jihad. We make a great mistake if we think antisemitism is a threat only to Jews. It is a threat, first and foremost, to Europe and to the freedoms it took centuries to achieve.

March 24, 2016 - "Born to suffer" - Editorial Israel & Christians Today By Andrew Tucker

As I write this editorial it is the week before Good Friday and Easter, also known as Holy Week. I am reflecting on the holiness of Jesus, and His suffering in the days leading up to His death and crucifixion. In Luke 19 we read that when Jesus approached Jerusalem for the last time, He wept bitterly over the city. Although greeted by an exuberant crowd, He knew that just days later He would be rejected even by His friends, and die on the cross. I try to enter into His spirit of pain and loneliness. What was He thinking? What did He feel? What prayers did He offer up?

March 22, 2016 - Iby Knill - The Woman Without a Number

By Marie-Louise Weissenböck (Chair C4I Austria).. When my husband and I visited Iby Knill, a nearly 92-year-old woman, on 12 September 2015 in her home in Leeds, England, a long-cherished wish of mine was fulfilled. Her moving memories were disclosed for the first time in 2010, when she published the book : “The woman without a number”. It took her 60 years before Iby Knill could speak about her time in concentration camp Auschwitz, Buchenwald (Lippstadt) and the death march to Bergen-Belsen. When she was 75 years she decided to study theology at the University of Leeds, and when the subject of the Holocaust came up Iby Knill she expressed herself for the first time as a survivor. With the help of her professor and good friends, she found the courage to unfold her experiences and to write a book about it. In this article we have summarized a few incidents from her dramatic life story.

March 16, 2016 - United in the Homeland: update from families that recently made aliyah

Three months passed since the remarkable day when the families Tsarenko and Pleshkov made their aliyah, i.e. ‘went up to Israel’. Leaving behind old lives, relatives and friends, they headed to the very South of Israel, the hot and dry Arava desert.
Maybe you remember their stories. They were published on this website in two parts in February 2016, namely: "From Soviet apartment to kibbutz" and "Following Aliyah-making Jewish families." (See the links in the article)

The results were very favourable! As always, it was not easy to drive the many thousands of kilometres on snow covered, icy roads. It is always risky! February 9, 2016 - From Soviet apartment to kibbutz

Text: Richard Donk | image: Henk Visscher Sourced with permission from Reformatorisch Dagblad. The war in East Ukraine resulted in a flow of refugees. Many Jews take this opportunity to emigrate to Israel. This is a story about two Jewish families who exchange icy Eastern Europe for a kibbutz in the Negev Desert. A grey Soviet apartment in Zaporozhe in Ukraine. Alarmed pigeons flutter around. A runaway dog skulks around a refuse heap. There are no elevators. So we walk the staircases to the apartment of Olga (29) and Aleksandr Tzarenko (30) and their children Yevgenia and Anna. They are about to ‘make aliyah’ – to emigrate to the Promised Land. Away from the brutality of war that has battered the east of their homeland for so long. And the danger, most definitely, is not something of the past.

They receive this small token of encouragement just before the Jewish New Year 5776 (14 and 15 September, 2015). What will the New Year hold? There is good reason for concern about the situation of the Jews in Ukraine. I was in Ukraine for just a few days, in September 2015, but they were very intense days. Of all the stories that I heard, one was even more poignant than the other. I spoke with Jews who were preparing to leave for Israel. Jews who didn’t even consider leaving the Ukraine until a few months ago. The situation in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions became too much for them, for different reasons. You see the same thing happening in the regions bordering the war zone – for example, Mariupol – because there too, the war has left its scars.

October 30, 2014 - Israel Prayer Letter October/November 2014

My summons to continuing prayer for Israel can be summarized in one Bible verse, which at the same time shows the seriousness of the situation: “Let the priests, who minister before the Lord, weep between the portico and the altar. Let them say, “Spare your people, Lord. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’” (Joel 2:17) The nations scorn Israel and mock God. So we have the more reason to humble ourselves and continue to stand with Israel. This intercessory letter focuses on humbling ourselves.

Together we visited a summer camp in Germany and after that he came to The Netherlands and lived with us for a while. He met Koen Carlier in Israel and Koen invited him to come to the Ukraine. A while ago he asked me if I would like to accompany him. I liked that idea a lot, so I said “yes”. I had no idea that he really intended to go. October 9, 2014 - ECI Monthly Report October 2014

ECI Monthly Report October 2014 This month's report is a mixed bag of good news and bad news. One does not need to look very far to find some bad news concerning the situation regarding Israel in the Middle East or for the Jewish people in Europe. The recent example of the new Swedish Government and its intention to recognise a Palestinian state, without a negotiated peace agreement with the Israeli Government, is obviously bad news.

August 28, 2014 - Christians for Israel International Annual Report 2013

Dear friends, We are living in momentous days. The Jewish people are coming home to the land. Collapse of the Israel/Palestinian peace talks. The nations of the world in conflict. Rise of extreme Islam. Demise of the US and rise of other global superpowers. Financial, environmental and energy crises, confusion in Europe. Rise of humanist secularism, and collapse of institutional churches. The Gospel of the Kingdom being preached in many nations and languages. Jesus said – learn the lesson of the fig tree. Heed the signs of His coming. Keep watch and pray. The core mission of Christians for Israel is to raise awareness in the Church about God’s purposes with Israel and the Jewish people, and the implications of this for Israel, the Church and the nations. We seek to do this primarily by training and equipping speakers and communicators, and through the media.

July 23, 2014 - Prayer Letter Summer 2014

Hundreds of rockets have been fired in recent weeks from the Gaza strip into Israel. Since the start of Operation Protective Edge more than 1500 rockets have been. Hamas is claiming responsibility for all of these attacks. The residents of southern Israel are being forced to stay close to the bomb shelters. Summer camps for children in southern Israel have been closed by the Israeli army. Thousands of children are being evacuated to other parts of the country. The current IDF ground operation is intended inter alia to uncover and destroy tunnels coming into Israel from the Gaza strip. Hamas has on a number of occasions attempted to penetrate Israel through underground tunnels using them to instigate terror attacks; this is a major factor threatening Israel’s security. Hamas is also using houses, schools, mosques, and hospitals to store and launch rockets into Israeli civilian areas. The IDF is making every effort to cause as little harm as possible to Palestinian civilians, but there are many casualties. This personal email received on Friday 18th July from Michael Freund, Chairman of Shavei Israel, gives an insight into the tensions caused by the current conflict.

July 23, 2014 - The Global Prayer Call 2015 (GPC) and Christians for Israel International

By Harald Eckert.. Christians for Israel International (C4II), together with Ebenezer / Operation Exodus International (an Aliyah ministry) and the European Coalition for Israel have launched a unique global prayer initiative for the 100 days between January 27th and May 8th, 2015. January 27th, 2015 marks the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz Concentration Camp in 1945 (today: UN-Holocaust memorial day) and May 8th, 2015 marks the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe which also brought the Holocaust to an end. Today, Israel as a nation is being threatened not only by hostile Islamic neighbors, but also by powerful anti-Semitic forces among the nations in a way that is alarmingly similar to the way Jews in Europe were threatened 70 and more ago years by Nazi-Germany and her allies. 70 years ago most of the church was asleep. February 12, 2014 - Abrahamov and Valentina’s return to the land of their ancestors. Report by Koen Carlier

During my trips to the airport in Kiev I have a lot of time to think. I was thinking of exactly 20 years ago, when I had just arrived in the Ukraine. I was able to be involved in the project ‘Exobus’. Together with Polish driver Victor, I could pick up a large coach with olim (immigrants to Israel) in Vinnitsa, Berdidjev and Zhitomir. I was full of excitement during that trip. Since that time, numerous drivers have helped to assist Jews in returning to Israel.

February 11, 2014 - C4I-Italy Exhibition: Sport, Athletes and Olympic Games in Europe during World War II (1936-1948)

On January 7th, Christians for Israel Italy (Cristiani per Israele) organised a major event in partnership with other organisations to open the exhibition about Sports, Athletes and the Olympic Games in Europe during the Second World War. Through iconography and historical accuracy, the exhibition aims to attract a wide audience to the theme of sport as a focal lens to read and interpret the history of the rise of Nazism in Europe and the Second World War. Particular attention was paid to how sport during Fascism and Nazism has been used by regimes as a propaganda tool to spread racist ideologies and to frame the population, as well as an instrument of opposition and resistance by some athletes who challenged the dictatorships in the name of freedom of conscience.

January 28, 2014 - Crisis in the Ukraine - urgent call for prayer and support

The Ukraine is in a state of crisis. There has been growing unrest in the Ukraine since December 2013, mainly in the capital city Kiev which is spreading now to all other major cities. Millions of people have been expressing their anger against the government, in a pro-European demonstration. A large part of the opposition is supporter of the Swoboda party - an openly anti-Semitic, nationalistic movement. There is great fear in the Jewish community. In the last week alone, several orthodox Jews have been attacked.

January 8, 2014 - The last food parcels of 2013 - report from C4I Ukraine

On Friday, December 27th, we succeeded in delivering the last food parcels for 2013 to all areas as planned. Here and there we heard people saying: ‘we thought you’d forgotten us!’ In this place you can plan all you want, but putting it into practice is another story. When we arrive at a new location with one or more food parcels, and receive an invite to have a ‘quick’ cup of tea, we might as well add another 1 to 2 hours to our time, and more if there is much interest or are many questions about Israel and their return! But this is, in fact, why we are here!

December 24, 2013 - Christmas Message by Rev. Willem J.J. Glashouwer

In the sixth month God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, we can read this in Luke 1:26-38. These are words that are very well known in the whole Christian world. Whenever we approach Christmas in the Sundays of advent before the feast of Christmas, all these messages are read from the Bible and in many churches many pastors are teaching about this.

December 19, 2013 - A word from the Chairman - Harald Eckert

As the year draws to an end, it is my joy and privilege to send you a word of greeting. For Israel the year 2013 was not an easy year. The situations in the neighboring countries have gotten even more unstable. The Iranian threat – with the Geneva agreement – has become greater and not lesser. The financial and social challenges of the nation are tense. The isolation of Israel amongst the nations and the media has grown. But still, there has been a comparably good level of quietness and absence of terror. And God is continuing to fulfil his promises towards the Jewish people and the relationship between us and the people of Israel – at many different levels – has never been as strong as today.

March 7, 2013 - "A call to repentance, a word of hope"

This week we - eighty Christian leaders from twenty countries – are meeting in Jerusalem for 5 days. We are leaders of the Christians for Israel movement. We are here to meet with Jewish and Christian leaders in the land, to learn more about the situation in the Middle East, and to pray for the Jewish people and their neighbours and the peace of Jerusalem. We wish to state publicly that we reject the recent proclamations of many Christian church denominations condemning Israel. We believe that the gifts and callings of God are without repentance. God is faithful to His promises. He has not terminated His everlasting covenants with the Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and their descendants, and the Church has definitely not replaced Israel as God’s covenant people. The return of the Jewish people to the land is a wonderful sign of hope – it proves that God is faithful to His word, and that He is preparing all things for the coming of Messiah and the establishment of God’s kingdom on earth.

February 15, 2013 - Blessed at work - a report from our Aliyah fieldworker Koen Carlier

We look back on a blessed 2012, and are grateful for all we could do to console and encourage the Ukrainian Jewish People on their way to the Promised Land. 2012 ended on a hectic note. We had a couple of short trips with Jewish families to the airport in Kiev, and some long journeys from the Hungarian, Romanian and Moldavian borders. Driving on these roads in Winter is no fun. We planned two extra food parcel packaging and -distribution actions and were informed that the Evangelische Omroep (Evangelical Broadcasting) wished to visit the Ukraine with a film crew.

Christians for Israel Greece invites you to join a unique study trip to Greece I May 2013. Rev. Willem Glashouwer will lead this 9-day journey to follow the footsteps of the Apostle Paul.Contrary to the understanding of many Christians, the Jewish Rabbi Paul (Saul) did not turn his back on his Jewish identity. As Apostle to the Gentiles, he connected the Gentile world with the God’s special relationship with Israel. The first Christians were mainly Jews, and they gathered in and around the synagogue. They studied the Jewish scriptures, and observed Jewish traditions.

October 31, 2012 - Bring the Jews Home: Support the aliyah of the Bnei Menashe!

The Israeli cabinet has finally decided to give the green light to the return of the Bnei Menashe Jews. The Bnei Menashe (sons of Manasseh) claim descent from one of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel, who were sent into exile by the Assyrian Empire more than 27 centuries ago. Their ancestors wandered through Central Asia and the Far East for centuries, before settling in what is now northeastern India, along the border with Burma and Bangladesh. Throughout their sojourn in exile, the Bnei Menashe continued to practice Judaism just as their ancestors did, including observing the Sabbath, keeping kosher, celebrating the festivals and following the laws of family purity. And they continued to nourish the dream of one day returning to the land of their ancestors, the Land of Israel.
