Emergency Aid Ukraine

Shalom dear friends. Due to the extreme and prolonged cold in Ukraine, the poor Jewish families in particular are enduring difficult times. For this reason, Christians for Israel has decided to organize additional emergency aid in order to raise funds for extra food parcels.

Because of the ongoing civil unrest and the violence of the last few years, life is very difficult for the Ukrainian people. The local currency (the hryvnia) has dramatically dropped in value due to the economic downturn. People living on benefits or a small pension can barely make ends meet because of this. The choices they have to make are heartbreaking. Will I buy a meal or medicine? Do I pay for food or for rent? Will I feed my children or will I turn on the heat? The harsh winter months make this even more burdensome.

Friendship
The food parcels are regularly distributed among Holocaust survivors, poor families, Jewish refugees, children and the sick. A food parcel is more than a bag of food. It’s a sign of your friendship and your support, a testimony to our Jewish brothers and sisters that they are not alone.

Will you help?
The cost of one food parcel is 10 euros or 11 US $. For this amount we buy wholesale products. The parcels are packed by volunteers and distributed throughout Ukraine. Will you help with one or more food parcels? Your support is desperately needed!

1 food parcel costs 10 euros / 11 US $ and consists of:
1 kg of sugar
1 kg of rice
1 kg of grits
2 kg of pasta
1 liter of oil
1 kg of flour
500 gr of oatmeal
1 box of tea
250 ml of condensed milk
1 can of fish
1 box of cookies
1 bar of chocolate
200 gr of coffee
1 can of peas
1 can of corn

Please pray!

Koen Carlier and his team have been working in the Ukraine for many years on behalf of Christians for Israel. They support Jews with food parcels, emergency shelter for refugees from the east, and practical help with making aliyah (i.e. emigration of Jews to Israel).

Pray especially for survivors of the Holocaust. Pray that they may realize that there are friends who pray for them and who don’t forget them.

Pray for protection of Koen and his team who visit the Jewish families. They drive thousands of kilometres on poorly maintained and damaged Ukrainian roads.

Pray for safety for the Jews in Ukraine. Especially for those living in the east of the country. For years now, this area is being torn apart by war and by severe economic crisis.

Please pray for this emergency aid. Pray that many Jewish families and elderly will be helped and encouraged by this.

Be thankful that we as Christians may feel called to support the Jewish people!

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances.” Three short commands that we can apply daily in our prayers for Israel. “For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
