To the leaders of the Jewish community in Belgium
The following letter has been sent to the leaders of the Jewish community in Belgium.
To the Jewish people in Belgium and worldwide
We are deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic attack in Brussels last Saturday. As Christians from many nations around the world, we are deeply grieved and ashamed that such an attack on the Jewish people can happen today in Europe.
We call on all leaders in Europe to stand in solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people, and fight anti-Semitism in all its forms and guises.
The EU should face its responsibility to protect the Jewish people in Europe in order ensure peace and true democracy on this continent.
In the context of rising anti-Semitism, we commit ourselves to doing all we can to strengthen, comfort and defend the Jewish people and the nation of Israel.
