Biblical understanding about Israel
The investigation report of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHCR) on the 2014 Gaza War and the alleged human rights violations by the Israeli army was presented on the 29th of June in Geneva, Switzerland. Together with members and supporters of more than 80 Jewish and Christian NGOs, Christians for Israel affiliates travelled to the Swiss city and expressed their support for the Jewish state and to urge the UN to treat Israel fairly.
While Israel tries to do everything possible to avoid civilian casualties, the country is accused of committing war crimes, according to the UN report. However, the terrorist organization Hamas is rarely convicted. The report also calls on the International Court of Justice to take action, which paves the way for criminal proceedings against Israel. Israel presented the results of their own internal investigation a few months ago. The media paid little attention to it.
Christians for Israel affiliates from Germany, Austria, Italy and the Netherlands showed their solidarity with the Israeli people by going to Geneva on the day the UN investigation report was presented. With over 1,000 participants from around the world they protested in front of the United Nations building against the unilateral UN report, in support of the State of Israel.
On behalf of Christians for Israel Netherlands Arjan Wendt was present in Geneva. "We have demonstrated against the unfair treatment of Israel and the lies contained in the UN report. Right now it is important to continue to stand with Israel! "
Christians for Israel’s Chairman Harald Eckert: “About half of the participants were Christians. The Jewish participants that were present were impressed by the strong support of so many Christians. It was a great encouragement for the Jewish community in Europe and for the Government of Israel.”
