Biblical understanding about Israel
Dear friends, colleagues and partners,
We can look back on 2011 with great thankfulness. In the last year, the Lord has greatly blessed the global Christians for Israel ministry in many ways. Representatives of most C4I offices met for our bi-annual Forum in Jerusalem in March 2012, in which we enjoyed a special time of prayer, fellowship and vision building. We were greatly encouraged by the inspiring stories from each C4I country. It was incredible to see and hear how much work you are all doing, and to witness the passion and creativity in the C4I family. The C4I branches are growing and developing. We have a new team in the USA, and we have welcomed many new C4I branches and representatives in Africa.
At the same time there are concerns and serious matters for prayer. In particular, we recommend our dear colleague Henk Kamsteeg for prayer. As well as being managing editor of the newspaper Israel & Christians Today, Henk is Chairman of C4I New Zealand and Australia and responsible for developments in SE Asia. Henk has recently been informed that he has advanced cancer of the lungs. In the coming months he will undergo treatment and surgery. We wish him, his wife Sytske and their family every strength in this difficult period.
The position of Israel amongst the nations grows more and more concerning every day. We see the rise of anti-Semitism in the world, and lawlessness in society and in the church. There is much division and confusion within Israel itself. This all shows how urgent the need is to bring our message of hope and warning. It is a message of hope, that Jesus is coming. Equally it is a message of warning – that Israel is the apple of God’s eye, and those who curse the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will be cursed.
Let us continue to pray that the Deliverer will come soon from Zion, and turn godlessness away from Jacob (Romans 11:26-27).
We wish all of you a Blessed Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
Maranatha, come Lord Jesus.
