Biblical understanding about Israel
Stop, look and listen for a few moments and feel the pulsating rhythm of the “Hate-the-Jews” song as it captivates many nations of the world today. The Muslims nations are dancing to its beat, while some European nations seem to be humming along.
Islam thrives on hatred of Israel. Holy war is their strategy. Iran’s president vows to wipe Israel “off the map and says the end of the world is just a few years away. They eagerly await the coming of the “hidden imam,” who will go to war against the whole world to establish a Muslim world free of Jews ruled by the laws of the Mahdi. And Satan is orchestrating it all!
Now if you and I want to know the future, we have to hold God’s prophetic Word in our hands because it gives us an incredible “early edition” of future events. The Bible is not shy about describing itself as a supernatural book, and giving people advance warnings of important future events. Jesus Himself talked about the end times in Matthew 24, telescoped near future and far future events, as did the Old Testament prophets. Jesus purpose in telling about His second coming is not to stimulate predictions and calculations about the date, but to warn us to be prepared. So do not settle for anything less than the truth and watch with open eyes and minds the unfolding of God’s eternal drama of the ages before our own eyes. Also understand that at the heart of God’s purpose for prophecy is changing our hearts and affecting the way we live our lives.
The history of mankind began in the Middle East, and it will end there too.
The Garden of Eden was located in the land we no know as Iraq. The last two cities mentioned in the Bible before the second coming of Christ are Jerusalem and Babylon. And the prophets tell us that before Christ returns to the earth, God will use the War of God and Magog – symbolizing all God’s enemies – to display His glory to all nations and to pour out His Holy Spirit, particularly on the nation of Israel.
Though these events and prophecies were written thousands of years ago, they are as real and as relevant today as the daily headlines on BBC and CNN. Pick up any newspaper and you will find the countries of the Middle East shaking our world and shaping our future. You will find Russia and Iran forming a military alliance. You will find Babylon rising out of the deserts of Iraq. Anti-Semitism is rampant and out of control. And Satan is convincing the world that the scapegoat for the ongoing Middle East crisis is Israel, Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.
This intense focus on the Middle East generally and on the State of Israel specifically will only accelerate in the days and months ahead. Those who view the world not merely by looking through the lenses of politics and economics, but also analyze them through a third lens as well - the lens of Scripture - know it.
Satan despises the Jews. The salvation of Israel emans the return of Jesus, the resurrection of the righteous, the revival of the Church and the restoration of the earth. The fulfillment of the Jews’ destiny will seal the devil’s doom. The time to favor Israel is upon us and Satan is quaking with fear. The countdown has begun.
Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, “Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name. They will forget their disgrace and all treachery which they perpetrated against Me, when they lice securely on their own land with no one to make them afraid. When I bring them back from the peoples and gather them from the lands of their enemies, then I shall be sanctified through them in the sight of the many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God because I made them go into exile among the nations, and then gathered them again to their own land; and I will leave none of them there any longer. I will not hide My face from them any longer, for I will have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,” declares the Lord GOD (Ezekiel 39:25-29)....
