Biblical understanding about Israel

New C4I publication shows Israeli settlements belong to Israel

Christians for Israel, in partnership with Destiny Image Europe, Christian Friends of Israeli Communities (CFOIC Heartland) and photographer/designer Theo Horneman, has published a new book called Judea and Samaria – the Heartland of Israel.

The media often presents the West Bank as “occupied Palestinian territory” and the Jews as militant, aggressive occupiers of the land. This book presents a different reality. It shows that the so-called “occupied West Bank” is in fact the historical heartland of biblical Israel.

Through photographs and citations from the Bible, this book introduces the reader to the 280,000 Jewish settlers who live in the West Bank. They live there because they believe that the Lord is returning His people to the Promised Land, and because they believe that the heartland is an indissoluble part of that land. As Jews who believe in the Word of God, they believe that God is fulfilling His promises and that Messiah is coming. As Christians, we share that belief and that expectation.

The book was launched at a meeting attended by the international leadership of Christians for Israel (C4l), representing 16 countries, with Jewish leaders from communities in Judea and Samaria, on Tuesday 16th March 2011. The event was hosted by Christian Friends of Israeli Communities (CFOIC Heartland). During the meeting Rev. Henk Poot and designer/photographer Theo Horneman presented their book, Judea and Samaria, to Yesha leaders as a symbol of solidarity with Jewish residents in those regions.

Auther Rev. Poot said, “The Land of Israel belongs to the Jews, to the Chosen People to the People of G-d. We are here to help the Jewish nation, throughout the Land of Israel. We are witness, with our own eyes, to the return of the Jewish nation to its land and draw encouragement and understanding of the spiritual meaning of these events from the words of Rabbi Kook.”

According to photographer Theo Hornemann, “this book was our initiative, to find an effective and passionate way to communicate the message of the communities in Judea and Samaria to Christians all over the world. We wanted them to see the pictures so that they would see that the source of the Jewish right to this land is from the Bible.”

“This book is a visual treasure. It is a brilliant photographic journey through the Scriptures. At the same time, this book will help the reader appreciate the beauty and the reality of Israel’s heartland today. It dramatically captures the prophetic significance and the pioneering spirit of the residents of the land.” Pastor Gary Cristofaro, Director of Outreach, Christian Friends of Israeli Communities (USA)

Proceeds from the sale of this book will be used to support the people of Judea and Samaria.
