Biblical understanding about Israel
The Christians for Israel West African Regional Conference lasted for 13 days, and was led by Rev. Willem Glashouwer, Jos van Westing and Bishop Elemi Samson. They traveled to Nigeria, Ghana and Sierra Leone.
The first meeting was held in Uyo, Nigeria on November 11, then meetings were organized in Port Harcourt (November 13) and Lagos ( November 15). We met with the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) among other Church leaders. November 17, we moved to Accra in Ghana where we held a one day conference with a group of students from the Pan African University College, Winneba, Ghana. Finally we flew to Freetown in Sierra Leone (November 20) where we launched Christians for Israel. There was a radio interview, a television interview with Rev. Glashouwer and a radio discussion. We also met with the Bishop of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Sierra Leone. The conference rounded off on November 23, 2011 with a teaching session for small group in Freetown.
We thank God for this trip. We know that we were doing the right thing, because at every turn we met problems and opposition - cancelled meetings, delayed flights etc. The enemy was doing his best to prevent the message from being spread. But we witnessed many leaders, and pastors come to a new understanding of God's purposes with this world. There remains a lot of work to do in West Africa.
