 In this edition:

Dear readers, friends and partners around the world,

As we launch into 2017, one senses that we are in a new season in God's plan for redemption of His creation. In recent months we have seen many nations using the UN Security Council and UNESCO to adopt resolutions that in effect deny the connection between the Jewish people and the old city of Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount. These distortions of historical realities are a direct attack on the legitimacy of the connection between the Jewish people and the city. They are also directly opposed to God's promises to establish Jerusalem when the Messiah of Israel comes. Jesus said that "Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled" (Luke 21:24), and that is exactly what is happening.

More than ever before, we need to preach the gospel of the Kingdom into the nations - so that the body of Christ worldwide will take up her responsibility to intercede on behalf of Israel and the Jewish people, and that the church will understand the implications of attempting to divide the city of Jerusalem.

We cannot (and should not) do that work alone. As Christians for Israel, we are continually looking for opportunities to partner with local churches and other global and national ministries. We believe it is our calling as an international ministry to build bridges between the local churches and the Jewish people. However, we need your prayers and financial support.

Will you continue to partner with us in 2017?

Aliyah from Paris

It’s raining cats and dogs. Or as they say in French: il pleut comme une vache qui pisse. I won’t give you the literal translation, but it gives you a good picture of what I can see from my window in Paris. It is now the second of six weeks in which I’m joining the organisation Ebenezer Operation Exodus. This is the organisation you might know from the project ‘Bring the Jews Home’ in Ukraine. Christians for Israel and Ebenezer have a long-standing partnership and together they have assisted many Jewish families in their return to Israel (aliyah) from various parts of the world.

Hanukkah in The Hague: light overcomes darkness and cold

Last night (December 28, 2016) more than 1,000 people came together in The Hague to experience the fifth night of the Jewish Hanukkah feast together. Central to this event was the largest Menorah in the world, which was positioned in front of the Peace Palace. The Peace Palace, where the International Court of Justice is located among other institutions related to international law, only became visible halfway through the afternoon when the fog lifted. This resulted in beautiful pictures during the Hanukkah event.

Long And Thorny Path Home

The Goldman family escaped from Donetsk in 2014, two days after the railways were bombed and destroyed. The only way to get out of the military zone was to go through three check points. Vladimir and Ilana took their kids Ksenia and Oleg and went to Harkov (Eastern Ukraine). In Harkov they decided to go to Russia. Did you think of making Aliyah back then in 2014? “At that time we didn't have time for preparing all the documents, first we had to run from the danger so after some days we found ourselves in the city of Moscow.”

Emergency Aid Ukraine

Shalom dear friends. Due to the extreme and prolonged cold in Ukraine, the poor Jewish families in particular are enduring difficult times. For this reason, Christians for Israel has decided to organize additional emergency aid in order to raise funds for extra food parcels. Because of the ongoing civil unrest and the violence of the last few years, life is very difficult for the Ukrainian people. The local currency (the hryvnia) has dramatically dropped in value due to the economic downturn. People living on benefits or a small pension can barely make ends meet because of this. The choices they have to make are heartbreaking. Wil I buy a meal or medicine?

Update from Isreality

Isreality is growing into a fully fledged international organisation in its own right. Participants from the Experience Israel tour 2016 are sharing their experiences with local church communities around the world. As Isreality, we are here to: 1) Study the Bible. 2) Unite students in the Church. 3) Bless Jewish friends. These three points are basically the mission of Isreality.

Seventy nations

By Rev. Willem J.J. Glashouwer - About the division plans of the United Nations and of the seventy nations that assembled in Paris on Sunday January 15, 2017 to enforce a two-state solution and to dismantle the Jewish settlements so that Jews from this part of the Promised Land can be swept away – ethnic cleansing – the Most High has a very clear opinion.

Bring the Jews Home - Looking back on 2016

We may look back on our aliyah work of this past year (2016) with gratefulness! More than 5,500 Jews made aliyah from Ukraine thanks to more programmes that the Jewish Agency has made available. After following one of these programmes, the chance of finding work is almost 100%. The consul days organized by the Christian Aliyah Alliance that we are a part of have also helped.

Spreading the message in Southern Russia

For many years already, Rev. Willem J. J. Glashouwer (President Christians for Israel International) travels to Russia once or twice per year to speak and teach about God’s purposes for Israel and the Church. These travels have taken Rev. Glashouwer across the country, often times including 24-hour trips by train, covering distances of 1,000 kilometers (about 650 miles).

Answer to prayer after Paris "Peace" Conference

By Christians for Israel International.. Seventy nations met in Paris (Sunday January 15, 2017) and signed a Joint Declaration in which they called on Israel and the Palestinians to re-commit themselves to the "two states" solution which they say is the "only way to achieve enduring peace". The declaration, which was perhaps less problematic for Israel than anticipated, has no binding force. But it does have a strong political significance because it supports Security Council resolution 2334 that declared ALL Israeli settlements (= Jews) "illegal", and will only strengthen the desire of many nations to ensure that a Palestinian state is created.
