Dear friends and partners,

It is a pleasure to send you an update about the Christians for Israel international ministry.

The first item is our Summer Prayer Letter. I encourage you to take the time to read these reports and pray about the various developments in Israel and around the world.

In the coming weeks, Willem Glashouwer will travel at the invitation of Ebenezer Operation Exodus to Brazil and Paraguay (11-25 August) and Russia (28 August - 8 September). Please pray for Willem and the Ebenezer teams as they prepare for these tours which are always very demanding physically and spiritually.

Harald Eckert has just returned from an excellent one-week visit to Nigeria where Regional Co-ordinator Bishop Elemi Samson organised many meetings with church and government leaders. Harald was able to introduce the Global Prayer Call in Nigeria. A detailed report will be included in the next edition of the Messenger.

For those who will be take vacation in the coming period, I thank you for your ongoing support, and wish you restful days and every blessing.

May the Lord continue to protect His people Israel, and prepare us all for the Coming of Messiah.

Andrew Tucker, Executive Director

Prayer Letter Summer 2014

Hundreds of rockets have been fired in recent weeks from the Gaza strip into Israel. Since the start of Operation Protective Edge more than 1500 rockets have been. Hamas is claiming responsibility for all of these attacks. The residents of southern Israel are being forced to stay close to the bomb shelters. Summer camps for children in southern Israel have been closed by the Israeli army. Thousands of children are being evacuated to other parts of the country. The current IDF ground operation is intended inter alia to uncover and destroy tunnels coming into Israel from the Gaza strip. Hamas has on a number of occasions attempted to penetrate Israel through underground tunnels using them to instigate terror attacks; this is a major factor threatening Israel’s security. Hamas is also using houses, schools, mosques, and hospitals to store and launch rockets into Israeli civilian areas. The IDF is making every effort to cause as little harm as possible to Palestinian civilians, but there are many casualties. This personal email received on Friday 18th July from Michael Freund, Chairman of Shavei Israel, gives an insight into the tensions caused by the current conflict.

The Global Prayer Call 2015 (GPC) and Christians for Israel International

By Harald Eckert.. Christians for Israel International (C4II), together with Ebenezer / Operation Exodus International (an Aliyah ministry) and the European Coalition for Israel have launched a unique global prayer initiative for the 100 days between January 27th and May 8th, 2015. January 27th, 2015 marks the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz Concentration Camp in 1945 (today: UN-Holocaust memorial day) and May 8th, 2015 marks the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe which also brought the Holocaust to an end. Today, Israel as a nation is being threatened not only by hostile Islamic neighbors, but also by powerful anti-Semitic forces among the nations in a way that is alarmingly similar to the way Jews in Europe were threatened 70 and more ago years by Nazi-Germany and her allies. 70 years ago most of the church was asleep. What about today…?

Editorial Israel & Christians Today, August edition 2014

“Choose life, that both you and your descendants may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19) By Andrew Tucker.. “We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children. We cannot forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. We will only have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us.” This statement by Golda Meir kept returning to my mind as we travelled and met with many people in Israel this last week. There is a conflict going on in the Middle East, and it has to do with the way we value life and death.
