It has been a while since you heard from us. In this edition of The Messenger you will get an impression of the many activities within the Christians for Israel international network during the last few months. In the next edition (late June) we will report on the various celebrations which many of the Christians for Israel teams organized during the month of May for Israel’s 65th anniversary.
We have all been affected by the passing last April of our founding father, Karel van Oordt. His death marks a turning point in the history of the movement which he founded over 30 years ago. We continue to miss his wise words. With his unmistakable capacity to combine spiritual insight with practical acumen, Karel always had a message of encouragement, or practical advice on how to be even more effective in our ministry. Even words of correction were brought with love. In this Messenger you can read the letter sent by the Speaker of the Knesset, acknowledging Karel van Oordt’s life and work – which will be an inspiration to us all.

Karel van Oordt A word of appreciation
We are encouraged by the many signs of love, comfort and friendship which we are receiving in this sad period after the passing of our loving and inspiring father, grandfather and greatgrandfather Karel van Oordt. We are thankful and also full of hope, because we know he is in the presence of Jesus Messiah and he is longing with us for that great day of His coming again, when His feet shall stand upon the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:4).

News from C4I Italy
Last April I was asked to go to Sicily, in Palermo, in one of the biggest church in Italy, to teach about the History of the Jews in Sicily. There were hundreds of pastors and church leaders who came from all over Italy: all were very touched hearing (many of them for the first time) the secular story of anti-Semitism in Italy.

New book by Rev. Willem Glashouwer now available!
'Why End Times?' explores God's prophetic plans for Israel and the nations. This is not another end-time theory but a teaching scholarly grounded on God's Holy Word. It provides an in-depth analysis concerning the prophetic significance of Israel and her relationship to the nations.
This subject is greatly needed to enlighten the Body of Christ and all people to gain a new understanding about what to expect and what to prepare for as the coming of Christ draws closer.

March of the Living - 2013
There is still a lot of snow in Auschwitz, Poland on April 8, 2013. Along the rusty railway from Auschwitz to Birkenau thousands of handwritten wooden signs in all sorts of languages, to commemorate the mass destruction that took place here. Moving, heart-rending texts, written by the youngest offspring of Holocaust survivors from all over the world, but especially from thousands of young Israeli people.

C4I International Leadership Forum in Israel 2013 Amazed by God's Grace!
From 4-9 March 2013, over 80 Christians for Israel leaders from 18 nations gathered in kibbutz hotel Ramat Rachel in Jerusalem for prayer, teaching, training, fellowship and meetings with Jewish leaders. This was the fourth bi-annual C4I leadership Forum.
We experienced incredible unity and great blessing in these five intense and fulfilling days. We thank God for showing us so much about His love and purposes with Israel and the church, and we praise Him for His faithfulness and mercy!

Exodus in the Year 2013 report by our Aliyah fieldworker Koen Carlier
We undertook a few successful trips with olim families from Khmelnitsky and Irpen before the Jewish Easter. David and Ben Vandeputten joined us for a short work visit, to learn more about the work of Tikva in Odessa, and Alumim in Zhitomir with Jewish orphans. Both David and Ben previously worked as volunteer bus drivers for Help the Jews come Home, and are well acquainted with the situation.
