Dear friends and partners,

It is a pleasure to send you an update about the Christians for Israel International ministry. In the past month of October another series of events and developments concerning Israel took place in Israel and around the world. Israel has been dealing with the aftermath of Operation Protective Edge, inside the IDF, economically and in the internal and international political arena. When preparing this newsletter C4I International received the message that Sweden officially recognized Palestine as a state today (30 October 2014). Earlier this week the Prime Ministers of Finland, Norway and Denmark decided to refrain from recognizing a Palestinian state despite the decision of the Swedish Government to do so. At a press conference at a summit of the leaders of Scandinavian countries and the Baltic States in Stockholm on October 29, Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt said her country would not recognize Palestine at this stage. “We also support a two-state solution, but we have chosen another direction and we stand by that,” she said. Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg also said that Norway would not recognize Palestine before an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement was reached. Israel’s point of view is that only direct negotiations can bring about a solution between Israel and the Palestinians (and the entire Arabic world).

In this October edition of the Messenger we inform you about the worldwide activities of Christians for Israel. We are excited that new offices were opened in Rwanda and Zambia. In October Rev. Willem Glashouwer travelled to Albania to teach about the Biblical significance of Israel and the Jewish people for Christians today. His book 'Why Israel' was translated in Albanian. After this trip he continued to Latvia to speak at the Baltic of conference of Ebenezer Operation Exodus. At the moment Rev. Willem Glashouwer is teaching in Korean churches in California (USA). 200 'Why Israel' books in Korean were sold in no-time! Harald Eckert recently visited Hong Kong, Indonesia, Fiji Islands, New Zealand and Mexico. Please pray for Rev. Glashouwer, Harald Eckert and other C4I teachers as they travel and bring this important message to the churches.

We encourage you to take the time to read the reports and contributions from all over the world and pray for all the developments in Israel and around the world.Thank you for your ongoing support and interest. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or would like to be involved in the growing Christians for Israel movement.

May the Lord continue to protect His people Israel, and prepare us all for the Coming of Messiah.

“I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.” Isaiah 41:9

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10.

Israel Prayer Letter October/November 2014

My summons to continuing prayer for Israel can be summarized in one Bible verse, which at the same time shows the seriousness of the situation: “Let the priests, who minister before the Lord, weep between the portico and the altar. Let them say, “Spare your people, Lord. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’” (Joel 2:17) The nations scorn Israel and mock God. So we have the more reason to humble ourselves and continue to stand with Israel. This intercessory letter focuses on humbling ourselves.

First time visit to the Ukraine

In the summer of 2014, I, Pieter van der Jagt (22) from The Netherlands, met Matthew Thorn (19). Matthew is from Australia and after he graduated from high school he decided to take a year’s leave to see the world and to learn all about God’s plan for the world. Together we visited a summer camp in Germany and after that he came to The Netherlands and lived with us for a while. He met Koen Carlier in Israel and Koen invited him to come to the Ukraine. A while ago he asked me if I would like to accompany him. I liked that idea a lot, so I said “yes”. I had no idea that he really intended to go. Only by the time we got the tickets I suddenly realized that we were actually going.

The international version of the Israel & Christians Today newspaper of October 2014 has been released. The main purpose of Israel & Christians Today is to explore the relationship between the Church, the nations and Israel (the Jewish people) from a Biblical perspective. The newspaper takes the position that God is faithful to His promises and that the restoration of the nation of Israel in our generation is a sign of Hope for the Church of the Coming of the Lord. ECI Monthly Report October 2014

ECI Monthly Report October 2014 This month's report is a mixed bag of good news and bad news. One does not need to look very far to find some bad news concerning the situation regarding Israel in the Middle East or for the Jewish people in Europe. The recent example of the new Swedish Government and its intention to recognise a Palestinian state, without a negotiated peace agreement with the Israeli Government, is obviously bad news.
