The international Christians for Israel movement is expanding rapidly. After years of ploughing the ground since the late 1990s – especially through Rev. Willem’s many travels and “ice-breaking” work as pioneer – in recent years we have seen new C4I teams developing in many countries. We now go into a new phase of our international development, in which we need to nurture these new teams, consolidate the Christians for Israel movement, and build on the foundations laid by those who have gone before us.

Our prime calling as Christians for Israel is to bring an urgent, prophetic message to the church and nations. We urge our Christian brothers and sisters to abandon many of the traditional ways of thinking which inherently believe that the church has “replaced” Israel and the Jewish people as God's people. We pray for a new spirit of revelation, humility and reconciliation. We challenge the nations to recognize and respect the Jewish people, and guarantee their rights to live in peace and security in the land.

It is a joy to share with you in this new edition of The Messenger the wonderful work being done by the Christians for Israel teams around the world. As the times become more difficult, and the world becomes more hardened in its opposition to God's plans with Israel, we can rejoice that God is working through His Spirit in many men and women, both in Israel and in the nations.

Andrew Tucker, Executive Director

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.
(Psalm 1)

Rev. Willem Glashouwer - recent and planned speaking tours

Rev. Willem recently went on speaking tours in Nigeria, Korea, Argentina, and Uruguay. He is currently travelling in South East Asia. Please pray for Rev. Willem as he undertakes these demanding but very important speaking tours. Pray that the Lord will open hearts and minds for all those who will hear the message about God's purposes for Israel, and that new leaders will arise who can carry this message into their nations. It was the first time that an orthodox Jew has spoken in Italian Christian churches about the lost tribes of Israel, particularly Bnei Menashe (the tribe of Menashe). During his trip Chiara Canciani (Christians for Israel Italy) interviewed him and wrote an article for an Italian Christian newspaper.

Powerful conference in Austria: Holocaust Remembrance, Responsibility and the Future

On May 11th, C4I Austria organised a conference in Linz, Austria, which had the theme ‘Remembrance, Responsibility and the future from a biblical, historical and artistic perspective.’ The event turned out to be a very blessed and greatly moving conference. It was attended by over 200 people from eight countries, including Israel! We had four speakers from Austria (Heribert Binder, a Protestant reverend, Helmuth Eiwen, a pastor leading a big free church and Rafaela Stankevich, an Austrian-Israeli historian as well as Angelika Schlackl, a historian), one speaker from Hungary (Georgy Frisch, the leader of the Union of victims of Nazi persecution in Hungary) and Rick Wienecke (sculptor from Israel).

Harald Eckert honored for support of Holocaust survivors

Harald Eckert, C4I International’s Chairman took part in a large gala event in the Jerusalem Convention Centre, where he was honored together with other Christian leaders for his work in support of Holocaust survivors in Israel. Harald has been a steadfast supporter of Holocaust survivors and has been instrumental in taking German youth to meet and serve Holocaust survivors in Israel. The encounters of young Germans with aged Israeli Holocaust survivors have a clear redemptive purpose. For some of them, this is their first encounter with a young German since the Holocaust.
